The amplified properties, strength and hardness in Stainless Steel 15-5PH Flat Bars, are obtained by adding aluminum and titanium to the nickel-copper base and by a thermal processing used to effect precipitation, typically called age hardening or aging. Stainless Steel 15-5PH Square Bars is a nickel-copper alloy, precipitation hardenable through additions of aluminum and titanium. Stainless Steel 15-5PH Threaded Rods is used by heating under controlled conditions so that submicroscopic particles are precipitated throughout the matrix. Some typical applications for SS 15-5PH Hollow Bars are chains and cables, fasteners and springs for marine service; pump and valve parts for chemical processing. Stainless Steel 15-5PH Rod has corrosion resistance with higher strength and hardness. Stainless Steel 15-5PH Triangular Bars is a binary alloy of the same proportions of nickel and copper as is found naturally in the meteoritic nickel ore and is therefore considered a puritan alloy.
The combination of very low corrosion rates in high-velocity sea water and high strength make Stainless Steel 15-5PH Bars well-suited for marine shafts in stagnant or slow-moving sea water. Stainless Steel 15-5PH Rods displays resistance in a sour-gas environment. Low corrosion rates in sea water make 15-5PH Stainless Steel Round Bars suitable for marine service although pitting may occur in stagnant waters but the rate of pitting slows after initial attack.
